Tom Flanagan spent years an years as the top adviser to Stephen Harper and The Conservative Party Of Canada. Tom Flanagan was the American brains behind the Conservatives rise to power in the 90s to the 2000s and the unite the right movement that made Harper’s dreams of Prime Minister a reality. Unfortunately, the right was wrong. Very wrong. Flanagan spent years as an opponent of native rights in Canada and is singularly responsible for harming their efforts for equality after a genocide. It’s only fitting that Native American students are the ones to bring down his career by bringing up a long ago quote regarding child pornography.

I’m sure they didn’t know or anticipate what was happening at the time. That they were asking the questions that would bring down “The Man Behind The Curtain” of the entire Conservative movement. I’m sure they expected excuses or denial. Instead Tom Flanagan decided to put his foot in his mouth and use it to dig a hole no man can escape. Stephen Harper was quick to make a list of talking points distancing himself and the Conservatives from Tom Flanagan. However to my ears “Tom Flanagan in no way reflects the views of the Conservative Party” rings false when it’s Tom Flanagan who specifically wrote the fabric of Conservative policy.

One oft used method of propaganda is the straw man. FOX news however takes it one step further but actually putting a man, stuffed with straw, in the debates. While discussing guns on campus their “liberal plant” Bob Beckel is there to “argue” the points of gun control. But really he’s there to pretend to argue it offering the ridiculously callous statement that “rapes don’t happen on campus.” The kind of media that would make Goebles proud. The Young Turks break it down the dance as the choreographed fake argument that it is showing that while there defenitly are rapes on college campuses, there are defenitly no real liberals on FOX News.

Let’s be honest here: FOX news is probably one of the most (if not THE most) propaganda-laced news networks in existence, today. We here at Political Pwnage have numerous posts citing this “water is wet” level of obviousness. And honestly, we almost feel bad for these folks, because it’s like shooting fish in a deep fryer.

But sometimes, when the planets are aligned perfectly, even our neocon friends not only get it right, but right on. Just watch as Obama is shown stating that the sequester was not his or his administration’s idea, but then watch as Mr. White House Press Secretary himself, Jay Carney states the complete opposite. Damn, son. One can only assume Obama must be eating a lot of bacon with his breakfast these days; to go along with the copious amounts of egg on his face.
