Their board of directors has many other members who have appeared downright insane like Ted Nugent. Faces of the pro-gun movement like Alex Jones have already made recent appearances in this space losing their mind due to being presented with a different point of view.
Today? Even conservative pundits are turning on their new ad suggesting that Barack Obama is an elitist hypocrite since due to the nature of the job of president, his daughters/family require a detail from the secret service for their protection. I’m not sure who they hope to influence however Joe Scarborough and many pundits on the right and left aren’t buying. Check it out…
Conspiracy theorists will believe anything they feel like. Alex Jones ‘wants’ to believe a New World Order is trying to create a global prison so he finds his justification. David Icke ‘wants’ to believe lizard aliens drink human blood to retain human form and dominate earth via politics and flickering eyes during speeches are enough for him. However, when a real professor at a legitimate university comes out in support of the Sandy Hook conspiracy theory that the shooting was fakes to create a pretense for gun control, Anderson takes aim. The assertions that a dead little girl was still alive and sitting on Obama’s lap post-massacre is beyond shame.
Alex Jones is a man of unique talents however today realized I truly underestimated the depth of his prowess. Fueled by Jones’ propensity for the shocking Glen Beck’s response in comparison appeared to be that of a rational, well thought and pragmatic thinker. When Glen Beck, who has routinely linked President Obama to being a Nazi, can get away with calling you a crazy madman of a conspiracy theorist, something is wrong. Behold the reason as Glen Beck distances himself from a cohort in conspiracy and crazy right wing media personalities.
During the NRA’s recent press conference while Wayne LaPierre described his vision of a militarized war zone America, where the only safe havens from the depraved exist within buildings surrounded by armed guards, he found out the hard way that it’s a bit too soon to be suggesting such things. Especially when the public at large has clearly had enough. Twice protesters held signs in front of him while talking obscuring his face while he pretended to not notice. Twice the NRA was blamed for the senseless murders in Newtown. Twice he only shook his head with no response and pushed ahead with his stark vision of an America that has never existed as it’s an America that people don’t want.
But it didn’t stop there. And it still hasn’t stopped. Responding to the speech tabloids even got in the act.
Ouch. Is Wayne LaPierre possibly… THE BAT BOY!!!!!???
Bob Costas recently went on the O’Reilly Factor to defend his comments regarding Jovan Belcher’s murder/suicide and how such events have woven themselves into American Gun Culture. He was there after 72 hours of being lambasted by conservatives. However, In a Post-Newtown Massacre world, Costas’ remarks seem almost prophetic rather then about the past. In an interview where Costas seems to gain momentum as it goes on Bill O’Reilly has little to say in response and elects to end the discussion. If you’re into the whole brevity thing, go to the 7:50 mark and hear Costas’ closing beat down of a statement.
